Today I thought about deleting my XING account because I never used it.
So I searched for the delet function in the settings of XING and couldn’t find the delete button.
So I searched the web for some seconds and found out there is no delete button.
There is the possibility to delete your account by sending a mail to the XING staff.

I then stumbled upon the private page of ragtek who had the same problem about a year ago.
Sadly his version didn't work anymore, so I was forced to write the mail to the XING staff.
And just a few seconds later i got their mail with the information that my request has been listed in their ticket system:
Dear xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Requests and enquiries from our members are very important to us and we endeavor to reply promptly to all of them. Please let us know by email if you do not receive a reply from us within several working days. Here you should be sure to include the subject and ticket number "[Support] Re: Ticket number xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx". This allows us to swiftly locate your original message. Our "Help" section may also be useful in answering any questions you may have. The list of Frequently Asked Questions can be found at

Best wishes,
Your XING team
So now I'm waiting for them to cancel my membership.
I must say it's sort of sad that such a social community like XING doesn't have a function included to delete your own account.
I'll post when my account has been deactivated. So let's see how long it will take them to do it.
So … live long and prosper,
nibot
UPDATE:
I was very surprised the moment I read the reply from XING.
They told me they can't delete my account for security reasons and I have to delete it myself.
They provided me with a link to the FAQ's.
There they tell you to use nearly the same link as in ragtek post, but this time they added the ";sid=0.bc7191" part at the end of the link.
So for now I have deleted my XING-Account and don't think I'll ever go back there.
So … live long and prosper,
nibot
